ARISTAL 2013!
Thought I shall share a little of the experience I had in last week before jumping in to cover Aristal.
Now, so last monday and tuesday we got back our results and I was really demoralised because my results were beyond shit. But okay, I decided to be rational and yea..heck it. Time to get ready and just chiong all the way uh. Been good so far. At least I'm getting work done and asking questions in class.
And Wednesday was Aristal. For those who don't know, it's a concert for all the NJC dance groups. So, I went with Melvin, Jon and Ben Eu. Random combination but okay i'm on rather good terms with them.
Actually wanted to Johnson to go with us but Melvin never ask him so he ended up going with some girl from his CCA. (good thing? bad thing?)
hoes over bros jusssssssss
There's this close friend of mine who's really head over heels with some dancer from my class. And since he couldn't make it for the concert, he made me give a flower to her on his behalf and yeaaaaa. HE SHALL NOT BE NAMED :P I must say they look cute together so all the best to him.
I had choir before that and it was really rush for me cos I had to suit up nicely and make sure I don't underdress, which kinda happened. What happened actually was my stupid fail fashion sense LOL. I wore a pink polo and brought a cardigan with me. But! IT'S BLUE AND GREY AT THE SIDES.
Colour clash much. Best part was I only found out when I was about to wear it at Kallang Theatre's washroom. Oh well, I think I didn't look that bad.
yea I'm vain. So I ended up not wearing the cardigan. I value presentation of oneself a lot and hence, believe that dressing well is important. Hahaha.
I bought 2 flowers with my own money actually. And 3 others together with Melvin for our classmates.
All of them will be mentioned later in the post. Now, let me continue. My dad drove me there and luckily I wasn't late. Met up with people from other classes and well, miraculously, there's a common topic haha. I must say that there were some awkward pauses and moments but overall, the socialising with the guys was alright and we did have fun, laughing at one another.
OKAY! Now to cover the dances.
I SWEAR THE DANCERS WERE AWESOME. and I really enjoyed the whole thing. The choreographs, the syncs, the props, the music, the message behind the art. Simply bravo(trying to be cool here). My favourite was the last one actually. Even though it was just tables and tables and people with nerdy glasses. It really made me think about how the current education makes us all quite the same. Losing ourselves in the midst of studying and taking the soul out of us. Basically, just having to repeat repetitions. I didn't manage to snap a picture for the dances because the place I was sitting at wasn't quite a good place to do so. I also liked the performance by the SH western dancers. Jihao just stunned me uh. I didn't expect a guy from NCC(Land) to be flexible and to be able to dance. To think Melvin called him the most unenthusiastic dancer a few months back. HAHA. Really proud of Jihao. :)
And yes, I spotted the other dancers I know quite quickly as well.
Yes, she. Before I move on, Indian Dance also did well. I didn't spot Jinting right away cos they all looked the same (professional makeup).
They did some horse thing with some chicken (bird actually) prop they carry on their heads. Just simply amazed by their footwork and the angle they bend their legs and arms. Freaking stunning. I didn't really like the Malay Dance first performance. Maybe it was too traditional for my liking and maybe cos I have already seen it before during the College Day rehearsals and on College Day itself. The second one was cool. Like some kungfu thing. Chinese dancers were really graceful and they exhibited their sheer flexibility. Bunch of Elasti-girls.

| DID SOMEONE SAY ELASTIGIRL? HAHA |
I hope I didn't miss any dance group.
Oh yar. During the intermission, I met with my cat high friends! Brendan and You Hong. They have changed definitely, in a good way. But then, who hasn't? We just instantly talked and caught up with one another. Been's awhile since I saw and actually talked to them.
The concert has ended. And the cat high guys were lingering outside the theatre. I decided to gather all the guys and take a all CHS guy photo, regardless of our differences, we still from the same school right? hahaha. Too bad some of them went down to await the people to give their gifts and all.
Here's the pic.

Look who's looking away again.
Jon Lai looks fking handsome here. I cannot tank. |
 |
| I couldn't resist but call for a choir photo. But then most of them have already went home cos it was super late. |
 |
Melvin, Amelia, Yishan, Me!
They said they were super shocked that we came up to give them the flowers.
OH YA! when we gave the flowers right, melvin super anti-climax uh! HAHA |
 |
| With Jinting and Johnson. We bought her a Monkey softtoy. All of us looks spastic right here. :P |
 |
| That's Louis. He's from NYJC and I know him from the MINDS CIP project my class has last year. |
 |
Jon, Ben, Thenappa and me.
Although we don't really hang out, great bros.
Jon and I decided to stand on lower ground so the middle two can put their arms around us. |
 |
YAY ME AND JIHAO!
HE WAS SO DAMN HAPPY OKAY.
What happened was, he had no flowers. And that one in his left hand was from me. He even hugged me hehe.
Bros for life. Super proud of him.
Yes. His classmates gave him a broccoli. |
 |
So.. she's the other person I gave a flower to.
Was kinda weird having to wait to give her the flower haha.
I don't know why but I was really scared as hell when I passed her the flower, not in the bad way of course.
She danced, really well.
And that's basically it. Aristal 2013. Lucky I went. It was really worth the 20 odd bucks.
I'll share more on what happened on Saturday, Homecoming Day a.k.a back to CHS day in my next post. :)
A little on the hot topic this week in school.
I really hope it's a miscomm. but imo, it's not. Some things are better left unsaid. Some things cannot be forgiven, needless to say forgotten. What done is done. Hope that everything will turn out alright :)
Still holding my stand so far.
Choir's really tiring but the thought that it's my last concert ever, the end of my 11 years in choir really just spurs me to hang on and do my best in leading the choir. We're having Cantabile: A Journey this Friday. Tickets are fortunately and to a certain extent, unfortunately, sold out. Really think that it'll be an emotional and heart felt performance, at least for the SH2s.
To those who are going, I ensure that it'll be heart-wrenching and a spectacular performance.
I didn't really want to post some of these stuff online, but oh well.
-wish that this time it'll be it.
Week 2: Tuesday. Going strong.
