Homecoming Day 2013
Wednesday, July 10, 2013 | 10:56 PM | 0 comments

Amidst my very busy schedule (with choir) and trying to catch up with work, I will try my best to fork out time and effort to keep this blog going.

Now, my friend has asked me why encore as my blog url. Okay it sounds retarded, maybe. But I feel it's kinda cool. As a chorister and a performer for a decade now, I want to say that performers do not just want to excel in the specific art, what we really want is the sense of satisfaction when the audience reciprocates what we give them. And one of the best things we can get from them when onstage is to hear someone shout "encore". It is something glorious, in my opinion, that someone enjoys the stuff you present and appreciates the musicality and expressions made by you. And so encore. Another reason for this url: isn't blogging like re-sharing/re-experiencing previous events? It kinda goes with the whole idea of having a encore, to repeat something just so one can indulge in it for a little longer. HAHA okay enough of this emotional philosophical talk.

So. Homecoming Day 2013. For those who don't already know. I'm from Catholic High School (CHS). Every year we'll have this fundraising event where the alumni takes the chance to go back and visit the school, teachers, and of course, our friends.

It was last Saturday 6th July 2013.

I had tuition early in the morning and 2 of my tuition classmates are my classmates in my secondary school. YAY! We went there together and hung out with my friends and all. WAS SO HAPPY THAT MY FRIEND SAY I'M BUFF-er :) At least, those months of working out didn't exactly go to waste haha. Was really shocked that a friend of mine who did 0 pull-ups pre-JC is now doing 24 pull-ups. Okay, he's in climbing. BUT STILL, 24 pull-ups is kinda mad for a small-sized and slim-built guy like him. Same thing as any other visit back to school. Find our teachers, try to relive the days. Joking and laughing about how retarded we were and what we did in some places while we walked past them.

Gawd I miss CHS and all my friends. Was kinda saddening that they have painted over the walls of the classroom. We had it painted blue and drew with a chalk on the walls. Even had the value of Pi up to the 100th decimal (my friend memorised it) written on the wall to express our interest in Math under the care of Mdm Ee(our Math Teacher). At least the memories remain in our minds. Mostly remnants, but enough to remind us how much fun we had in those days.

After the visit at school, we headed to Junction 8, one of our usual get-away spots which include Bishan Market. Decided to have ThaiExpress and we were saying that we should order different food so there will be more variety and hence can share the food.

BUT NO. WE ALL UNINTENTIONALLY ORDERED THE SAME FOOD.

Some honey chicken rice thing. It was super dry but the catching up was the real point of the lunch. Alright, lunch over. Some of us decided to catch a movie and some just wanted to sit and talk. Ended up camping together at the open air area haha. The sun was strong and the first thing that caught my eye was this mini bouldering structure. I tried climbing it. But its for kids so the foot holes were super small compared to my feet-size. LOL. My climbing friend did manage to climb it tho. He's from climbing after all~ hahaha

Yuan How(Pi guy), Wei Chuan, Kevin, ME, Ben, Zac, Francis (the climber)
no idea what Zac's trying to do. hahahaha

Notice that retarded Yuan How is sliding down. LOL
and..WC's epic chest muscles.
Selfie with Yuan How.
Definitely one of my closest bros.
Awaiting for the day in which we form a legit band. HAHA
ABS!
I was totally losing my balance here. Clearly, such a minute contraption isn't really designed for people like me.
AHHHH STUPID.  FKIN' EMBARRASSING  Damn.
Yuan How was like HAHA I GOT THIS ON CAMERA!
Trying to salvage the situation but giving a silly smile. LOL
Took me forever to get it there. I had to squat and climb at the same time.
For Children Ages 6 to 12.
Guess some of us just didn't care.
Bombed by the kid behind HAHA.
And after that WC and I went for tuition. Overall, a very fulfilling day out with my bros. :)

I should be planning for my studies and studying rn. But I can't get myself ready and focused because I'm kinda unwell. WILL CONTINUE TOMORROW!

Can't wait for the concert. And I must say, hearing the announcement regarding Cantabile being sold out was simply shuang(slang for fulfilling?) Proud of my choir :)

-A part of me wants to but no, I'm not letting myself fall into the same hole all over again.

Week 2 Day 3. Unwell but determined.
